Commercial Asset-Level Field Inspection Specialist

With more than 40 years in construction, development, and capital project management, Rick Wheat is a Florida-based commercial field inspector covering the Southeast and available for both interior and exterior assignments. Part of his background includes coordinating a Private Equity group with the acquisition and/or disposition of over 10,000 affordable apartment units throughout the Southeast.  Most recently, he has assisted with executive oversight of a $580MM, 44-property multifamily portfolio (4,700+ units) in (10) states nationwide.

Mr. Wheat has performed thousands of onsite unit and property inspections related to:

  • Capital expenditure evaluation
  • Draw inspections and deployment verification
  • Physical condition reports
  • Insurance and underwriting site assessments

Mr. Wheat earned his Florida Building Contractor’s license in 1983, then elevated it to a General Contractor’s  license two years later.  As such, he built or renovated several $million in commercial and high-end residential projects.  In addition to his significant construction knowledge, Rick is a Certified Commercial and Residential Mold Inspector and Remediator, giving him strong risk-recognition capability without crossing into structural or code compliance scopes unless requested.

Mr. Wheat is fully insured, is available throughout the Southeast U.S., and is comfortable with interior access and lender/insurance-driven reporting requirements.

Capital Expenditure Evaluation

A major role in a proper Commercial Field Inspections is the structured process of reviewing, analyzing, prioritizing, and recommending major investments in long-term assets to determine whether they create sufficient financial and strategic value.

Insurance & Underwriting Site Assessments
